Overwhelmed

Recommended Posts

Manmachine

I have mini-meltdowns when I feel overwhelmed by things I have to get done.

I have overcome this by breaking down the task and just doing a little bit at a time.

For example, my garage is extremely untidy! Sorting it out is a monumental task. So if I have to go out there to fetch a screwdriver for a job in the house, I will pick up one of the kids toys and take it back and return it to their room.

Life has to go on regardless of my challenges.

When I have these meltdowns I feel dizzy. But it can be overcome.

Yes, this is how I deal with long or complex tasks, too, or it seems like climbing a mountain. At the moment I'm having to deal with a lot of hospital visits, and I find those overwhelming, too.

Edit: I also tell myself that I don't have to do it all now, I can do a bit now and the rest later. That also helps.
