Hey guys I'm new here and thought posting here would he a great place to start. Anyway I am 23 and I have asperger's, though personally I feel no different to anyone else,I do have some characteristics that could be considered "weird". I feel a lot of people don't understand asperger's and I often get frustrated with the lack of understanding from others. After finding this forum I thought it would be great to sign up and well here I am . I am very open so if you have any questions on my asperger's or even just on myself, feel free to ask.
  2. Hello, I'm a French 21 woman, so forgive me for my bad english. I joined this forum because I have suspect myself to be asperger, but I don't know, and I don't know how to know it or not. For the moment I don't have any money and I don't want to talk about that to my family, so I prefer to stay away from professional consulting for the moment : also because I would like to first figure out on my own if I might be asperger or not. I love watching documentaries about people's life, and when it came to a documentary about autism, it made me remember some of my childhood behaviours, so I started to have a look on youtube channels about autism, and conferences. I recognized myself very stongly in the female asperger syndrom, but not totally, also a little bit on the male one. What I mean about that is that I really struggle with my social life, and I used to have nearly no sical life, like if my classmates did not even exist. Then I started to be preoccupied and stressed about that when it became dangerous for me : when I started to be bullied. I don't have specially a routine, neither an obssessive hobby. I have a lot of different important hobbies but I'm not obssessed about a single thing, so it's difficult for me to figure out if yes or no I might be asperger. And what it make it even harder is that I have no problem with empathy or imagination, I can't watch people in the eyes but I still understand more or less what they are feeling. I never intended to be strange or whatever, but people around me, of all ages, all kinf of relationships (people who hates or liked me, or teachers, family) kept saying to me I'm odd, or original, or strange, through all my life. I also have some struggles with sensory overload, auto-stimulation etc, I did several metldown when I was really tired in class, or stressed. But when I'm doing well I just look like normal you know ? I start to act weird only when I'm tired or anxious, or drunk. (or when I was a child), but now, I just look like normal that's why I really struggle to know if I'm asperger or not, it's like if I was half asperger half normal, and the reason why might be the adaptation and constant control of myself, but I don't even notice it in my everyday life. I don't know if it could have any impact but I also am "very gifted" person even if I don't like the term, so it's even harder for me to distinguish what could belongs to high IQ, and what belongs to potential autism ? I just recongize myself more in the autistic side than in the highly gifted one. Thank you for reading !

He everyone, First time here, long time wondering if I am high-functioning autistic / aspergers. Diagnosed with bi-polar long time ago, so I've always focused on that, but I wonder about my social skills / lack thereof, lack of empathy, etc, like I read about with autism. Especially observing my now 25 year old daughter who lives with my wife and I and first being in denail about her autism possibilites, but seems to be the case as time goes on. Glad to be here and hope to have some enlightening discussions.

    The Magicians

Has anyone seen this new series based on the books by Lev Grossman? I am just about to watch the third episode and so far so good. This might become my new favourite thing, although I have yet to read the books as I am reading something else at the moment.

Hi my name is Steven Landau. I am 17 years old and I finally decided to join this site to meet others like myself. I have struggled with Aspergers for awhile now. I constantly feel like i am a target of amusement for those around me and I hate it. I understand that here I am like everyone else and appreciate that immensely. I plan on attending Rochester Institute of Technology next year for computer science. I also play a lot of video games and like to read. Just introducing myself, nice to meet everyone. -Steven Landau

    A little about me

Hi. My name is Clinton. I'm 16 years old. I was diagnosed with Aspergers... I would like to say 6 years ago but I'm not quite sure. I find that it doesn't affect me as much in some ways but has a tremendous affect in others. For instance I can start a conversation very easily if I know the person. But when it comes to actually keeping the conversation going, I would say I do worse than some of my aspie friends. I'm just sitting there just nodding trying to add on to the topic at hand only to end up changing the topic. I sure can talk about myself, though. I'm part of cadets. In fact, I recently got appointed to Assistant Drill Instructor as well as Operations Staff. I spend three nights a week with the cadets on average doing drill, practicing the trumpet and just doing regular training. In all honesty, I joined this website because I was looking for a social network that I could join. I stumbled on to this and figured I'd probably be able to relate better to aspies. Maybe even get some advice from their experiences. Anyways, if you're still reading thank you. It's nice to know that people wanna know about me.

    Newbie Introductions

Hello Just recently joined Asperclick after coming across it while researching my condition. I was recently diagnosed after coming back to the US after many years over seas. Looking to chat with people who are more familiar with their own condition or attempt to relate to those who were diagnosed in adulthood and the struggles that have come about in result of that. As my profile states I enjoy reading, researching, smoking, drinking tea and writing research articles. I am also currently in a relationship with someone who is also on the spectrum but in a different form from mine (ADD.) Not very good at short introductions but, oh well. Hi there!

Just thought I'd drop in and say hi. I've just found this forum today, so I'm not 100% sure how things work here yet, but I'm hoping everyone is willing to be patient with me while I learn!
