Hello all, I was diagnosed with Asperger's/HFA last month, and I am 45. For the first time in my life, everything is starting to make sense. I just wish I knew a long time ago.

Hi, I'm Heather. I'm 18 years old. I've done hours upon hours of research and watching documentaries on ASD and AS. I'm certain that I fall on the spectrum. I've always known I'm different from others in some way. I have sensory issues, stims, trouble communication, bad eye contact, anxiety when things change, ect. I realized I could very possibly be on the spectrum a year in a half or so ago thanks to my endless research, which I'm still doing. I was going to be formally tested for ASD a few months back, but my family didn't have the money. I hopefully will be tested soon.

Hello everyone! My name is Alex, I’m 26, and I think I might have aspergers, I’ve been seriously struggling a lot socially and emotionally. I had in the past 2 years a good job, and I’m good on languages and analyzing stuff. I’m very shy out of my house, and I feel very lonely as I have difficulties to communicate with people due to my anxiety /social anxiety. I’ve been reviewing my last years in life and I think there are strong evidences that I have aspergers. I’m very interested in nature (the most powerful thing to relax me), walks, beaches/sea... Hope to make friends and live a more meaningful life.

Hello everyone, my name is Adam! I am 26 years old and have high functioning Asperger's syndrome. I have had always had a fascination with television, mostly from a visual perspective. Some of my most favourite programmes are very visual...my number one favourite doesn't even have spoken word but played an important part in my early development years. I like to listen to a lot of music, mostly the pop genre from my childhood/early teens (late 90's to mid-2000's), but apart from that I do have a varied taste. I also play the odd video game too. On a regular basis I volunteer for a theatre organisation, and I often visit a place especially setup for people with high functioning autism and Asperger's to call their own. I better stop there before I end up writing an autobiography! Hope to hear from some of you!

Hi there. I'm new to this website. I'm a 25 year old female, from Canada. I was diagnosed with atypical autism at age 16. I was also diagnosed with Bipolar 1 at age 17, and Fibromyalgia at 25. I am married, unemployed, and have low self esteem. I enjoy dance, music, and pop culture. I also love animals, and have two pets; my cat Lindor, and my gerbil, Jolie. I am quite the uninteresting person. I wish there were more to tell, but there really isn't. I look forward to getting to know everyone here

Hi, I am new to this forum, 13, will be 14 in 5 months. I was diagnosed with asperger's when I was 8, I thought no one understood me and I thought that there weren't many people like me. I tried to act neurotypical but it was overwhelming and probably caused depression, I hope I finally found somewhere where I am accepted

Hello! I'm Alli and I hope to find some answers about Asperger's. I'm a bit late to the party, I think. I was at my therapist complaining about my brother - whose family all agree he has Asperger's - and she said, "I think you might be on the spectrum". This had never occurred to me! But, the more I looked into it, the more it made sense. So, here I am at 57 looking back and going, oh, that's why...oh, no wonder...oh, of course! But I also am finding many mysteries and hope to find clarification here. Thanks so much for providing this forum.

Hello/I have a provisional diagnosis/found people like me...finally.
AspieFox posted a topic in Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone, I am a 34 year old professional composer and also a pianist. I have a provisional diagnosis, in that - I have completed the detailed paperwork and questions from a specialist clinic, following a doctor referal, and I am awaiting the face to face assessment date. I have spent my whole life feeling different and never fitting in, whilst trying my best to fit in (hence a late diagnosis, because I have learnt how to adapt and can appear on the surface like everyone else, but this doesn't take away the fact it feels unnatural to me). People don't understand how certain noises, light and other senses are too much for me or that I have difficulty expressing myself, understanding others and take most things literally. I am happy that I found others like me and feel less alone, but still quiet lonely and isolated. I also feel a bit confused as I must accept my new self as an Aspie (and wish I had the official diagnosis done already, although deep down, and logically, nothing even comes close to matching my difficulties and talents compared to an Aspie profile). I rarely communicate online (because I'm worried that I will not express myself properly, and also people tend to not see the logic or truth in situations and get upset when I point them out). The Aspies I have met globally online seem to make the most sense to me and seem more 'normal' in thinking, than neurotypicals to me, and it seems easier to communicate with fellow AS people. Thank you for reading. -
Hey everyone, not going to lie I've been a bit hesitant to post here (nerves) But I felt this is a good place and maybe I'll make some new friends. I always feel I'm going to be judged negatively. So, with that being said here is a little about me and what I'm about. I sort of just copied this from the "About me" section I just typed up ^-^ It was easier that way. This is the first time I've ever really opened up about myself to anyone. My name is Andre, I'm 25 years old as of April 11th. I make music, instrumentals, recording, remixing and Dj'ing as well. I frequently spend hours on end working on new sounds, hidden away from the world. When I'm not working on, or listening to music I'm designing my website and marketing my stuffs ^-^ Or if I feel like getting out in the world I like to check out thrift stores, goodwill's and garage sales for vintage treasure, exploring forests taking in nature or fishing. Love gaming as well as it helps get my mind of a lot of stress. I have absolutely no social life. haha. Everything I have built up in my life has been self taught as I was unable to focus or even be slightly happy in school. You could say the internet raised me I was first diagnosed ASD this year (2016) once I became more consciously aware of myself, and after lengthy research I decided to talk to someone about it. Prior to this I was diagnosed with severe anxiety, panic disorder, adhd and depression. I went my whole life without knowing as my parents showed no interest in me. (My mother abandoned me when I was 13 in an apartment and my father is a negative alcoholic) So that wasn't much help! (lol) But I'm actually glad my life turned out like this because it made me the person I am today. Positive, enthusiastic, kind-hearted and humble.
