Sounds a bit like me, I talk about games in general and I think my mum is sick of hearing about it!

I just find it funny and I can get him to talk about other stuff too, I wouldn't change him :D

I always used to think it was my interests snd I never even thought I could be being boring its since ive realised what I am ive come to know how I appear to others. Its s but unnerving to see there is something wrong with me and that the people I thought were always wrong were most likely right.

I wouldn't say you have something wrong, you just perceive things differently :D

Yes - talking is a huge effort. I kind of wish I had more practice of it as I do want to improve. Sometimes, though, once I start talking, I can't stop. I know that's not how a conversation should go but I don't seem to realise that at the time. Also, if I just keep on talking, there will be no space for anything awkward to happen. I'll just talk and talk...

Well, I really hope you enjoy your trip to the cabin. You will have to tell me/us on Asperclick how it was, when you come back  :)

Your right there sofi it takes away the uncomfortable feeling when your trying to talk to people but as it turns out I was making others feel uncomfortable. Do you think that practice can make it better I've been like this all my life and being around people hasn't made any difference to me I've always been the same. That seems really negative but I'm a realist and sometimes you have to except things which is probably why I suffer with depression. It's sort of whats better I call it living in a fantasy world or is that being forever optimistic which is really a more positive thought that may help depression and create a better quality of life.

That's so lovely to hear if only there were more like you with that perspective then life wouldn't hold so many fears and concerns as they do now people who understand make the world a more attractive place to be.

I keep trying to think this way its like it's stuck in my head rationality I see this but the thought keeps coming back into my head even when I don't want it to. This is one of the reasons I undertook writing my book it started off as s self healing project to try to understand my own reasoning and quickly developed into what it is now.

Yes. I've learnt that too! I don't know if I would say "the sky" out loud. I probably wouldn't say anything, or say "Nothing" or "Not much". I feel like I put so much effort into getting each word out of my mouth. I stutter and get stuck on words and it's usually a mess!

Yeah, in a way, we are practicing some social skills. I have learnt a lot of appropriate phrases in response to things, which I use on here and I would know to say them in real life, but I'd struggle with the talking part and the anxiety of the social situation, would put me off too much. My brain, unfortunately  doesn't comprehend social situations very well, as most on the spectrum....

I do wonder if my dad had aspergers as well maybe it's where I got it from he didn't like social situations because of his stutter and knowing what I do now I can see he had a lot of the traits too.

My family gets sick of me talking about video games, so instead of trying to change the subject, they just ignore me completely.

I always end up talking to myself, since no one will listen to me.

That's a real shame, I do my best to listen to my son because I know it means a lot to him, but I do change the subject to get him onto something else.

You never know, I know a few members of my family have a lot of traits.

Thank you :D it is shame more people don't understand, I know a few professional people have said they like the way I am with my son, I think it's because I'm laid back and don't freak out or stress out over how he is, I know some parents go to extremes thinking of ways to deal with things but in my experience I find the best way is to be calm and listen and try to figure it out, what they don't want is someone who is angry or no patience.  I know it can get a bit frustrating on both sides, so I always try and see it from their point of view.
