Whose username? The username of the author of the post above yours (the one quoted here) is her given name. As far as I know, she has never seen a point in a username any different, the exception would be where she is known as 'Willow Tree'. The whole point of a screen name is to register without disclosing one's real name. But her real name is out there.

I wasn't talking about her changing her username. I was talking about it being bold (thick). I thought it was finally bold. If you notice, everyone who's over a certain post count has usernames that are bolded (not anymore after the addition of the basic Asperclicker subscription). But they used to be bold based on a post count threshold which @Willow had surpassed. Her username should have been bold but was thin. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore due to the addition of the basic Asperclicker subscription.

Actually, while Willow Hope is her real, legal name, it's not her birth name. I actually think I know her birth name but I'm not going to reveal it because it might actually be her birth name and Willow might actually get mad.

The point of the screen name isn't that. People can choose whether to give their real name or not. Some members used to have their real name, not full name but first name. And @Heather changed her username to her real first name.

It's been snowing like crazy here. Of course it's nothing compared to the rest of the country but it's pretty crazy. :D

I didn't say anything about changing usernames. I never noticed the bolding of usernames. I thought Willow had more posts than any other, she is the founder.

You should not reveal it without a good reason, and having her permission is not enough of a justification.

If someone doesn't want to give their real name publically, and they register, then they will certainly choose a username different from their real name. Of course, people can choose whether to give their real name, but if they choose to give it, they might as well not use any other name, the best way to give a real name is to register under it. People can choose to register under their own real name or choose not to give it.

Using only one's given name may be a way, but only if no one else (counting only those who have chosen to provide their real names) has the same given name. First example, if someone’s name is Rhianna Smith, then registering as Rhianna or RiRi (pronounced Reeree ) would count as using her own real name, but those with that given name should only do that on a site where there are no other Rhiannas or Rhiannons who have chosen to give their real names.

But if she registers as something like Riri87, the number (presumably to distinguish her from others with the same given name) would make it a pseudonym, a screen name if she uses it exclusively online.

I know. That's why I said I thought it had changed. For some reason, it looked bold to me that day I made the comment.

Uh, you did say this:

which In summary, is talking about changing usernames/username changes ^ You are talking about username changes or consideration of changing a username. Why are you saying you weren't?

@Myrtonos Please don't draw me into a back and forth thing.

What you are saying here is basically what I said...

I was just saying that's not the whole point or maybe not even the point. People can choose to do whatever they please. They can give their real name or not.

By the way, @Myrtonos my name has nothing to do with Rihanna. lol  😂 There was a porn video of her out there I think that's what changed my perception of her. Also, I'm not black. And her song, there's a monster under my bed, Bebe Rhexa's vocals were used and all that time I thought it was Rihanna and they didn't even credit Bebe.

Sorry, I was replying to your first comment. I didn’t know you’d realised it wasn’t bold lol.

No, it is about usernames chosen in the first place, nothing specifically to do with changing usernames. I didn't say whether she has seen a point in changing her username, only that she hasn't even seen a point in registering under any other name in the first place.

Of course, they can give their real name or not, but if they register under their real names, they must necessarily be giving them. The only way to register without giving one's real name is to register under some other name.

It doesn't have to do with the singer Rihanna, but RiRi is a nickname for those christened Rhianna, note the Rh, differently spelt name.

Okay, username choosing. My statement still holds. I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT USERNAME CHOOSING, I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE BOLDING OF THE USERNAME. I basically wasn't talking about whatever you were talking. I already told you what I was talking about which was not what you were talking about. If you don't want to understand then that is your problem.

All right. And my username, only I know where it comes from. You don't get to tell me what it represents because in this case, MY username doesn't represent Rhianna or whatever.
