Has anyone tried CBD or Hemp Oil for anxiety?

Recommended Posts

Still looking for a natural approach to my anxiety, depression, pain, and fatigue. Has anyone here tried CBD and/or Hemp Oil? Does it work or is it a waste of money?

I have tried CBD from a few suppliers for 3 months after a cancer scare and to deal with extreme anxiety.
Results seem to vary greatly amongst different people.
There are facebook groups (CBD users UK is one) that can be used to glean info.
I did find it helped melt anxiety for a while. I've not had it a few months now ... maybe should try it again.
My preferred supplier was CBD brothers. My preferred items being blue edition oil (few drops under tongue) and blue edition capsules 100mg (which also reduce pain).
I believe the guideline is less is more.
Some people use CBD vapes but I have never tried that.
My partner has tried fiddlers elbow grease for a damaged knee ... thats a CBD balm that reduces pain.
You can also buy hemp tea from amazon or ebay ... nice with honey and lemon or if a smoker you can smoke it.
Though stigmatised by association (with marijuana) ,  none of these products get you high or contain sufficient THC to be illegal.
Personally I found it worthwhile, (great for bike rides as legs don't tire).
I believe it can seem to stop working after a while - so a short break is sometimes required to resensitise

Thanks for all the tips! I'll check into the drops and tea. I want to avoid feeling high at all costs, it sounds like hemp might be an option for me.

Thanks again!

Marijuana is very calming when I am alone, but increases my anxiety when I need to go out, plus it actually makes my fibromyalgia achiness more noticeable.  What did help get me out of my 40 year or more reign of depression, sadness, moodiness was taking 5-10k iu vitamin D every day for a little over a year. Now that my D level is up I am much better and have reduced my intake to Cod Liver Oil (400iu D3, vit A and fish oils in one cheap format) with no noticeable decline. The world is looking better today. For a long time I took 5 mg Buspirone as an antianxiety but, after about 6 months of D I stopped needing the Buspirone for everyday anxiety. There were several times this year for the first in many, that I actually felt Happiness.

Thanks. I found 10K daily has the best result. You want your blood level up around 70. My friend took 10 daily. After a year his blood level was still only 70 (30 - 120 deemed good) but his psychiatrist reduced his meds for bipolar and his GP reduced his statins and blood pressure meds. My daughter in law became less grumpy and moody after taking 10,000 iu for a short time. Later, she went wheat free and discovered she is lactose intolerant. As far as OD'ing on vitamin D it doesn't seem likely. One research study gave kidney transplant patients 125,000 iu. vitamin D in a single dose and after a year of tracking found no difference with the transplant patients that were not dosed in terms of kidney health.

I wonder sometimes if all the anger and violence that seems on the increase, might not be related to low vitamin D? Some researchers say 80% of the US is deficient.

I have, and it did seem to soothe my anxiety and obsessive thoughts to some extent. My dosage was inconsistent and my symptoms vary from day to day, so it's hard to tell exactly how effective it was, but I do recall a noticeable improvement on some days. It's frustrating that CBD still isn't prescribed by the NHS, as it can be very costly for those on a low budget, such as myself up until very recently. I'll soon be trying again with a more consistent and regular dosage, so I'll post some updates on my progress or lack thereof.
