Some more programmes / articles (females with ASD)

If you have access to the BBC I-Player you may want to watch a documentary called "The Asperger Moneysaver" about a young woman with ASD who is an expert on saving money. There are some insights into how autism affects females and how it can affect generations of the same family:

One of the things that I found most interesting in the programme was an interview with a university student called Rosie. I'm pretty sure this is the same person who was featured a few years ago in a very good documentary for children called "My Autism and Me":

Finally there is an extended article focusing on six women with ASD:

I haven't access to the BBC I-Player. But I think the other video and the article are very interesting 😊

I can't help but wonder: does Holly Smith (the "Moneysaver") ever worry about the wider impact on society of her obsession with cheapness? Remember the Rana Plaza tragedy five years ago, when a textile factory in Bangladesh collapsed with great loss of life. At the time it was linked to the Western world's demand for cheap clothes. A similar point could be made about demand for cheap food supporting factory farming or cheap flights fuelling an unsustainable increase in the most environmentally damaging form of transport.
