Does anyone here sometimes feel mute, when out with friends.

while I was out today with a friend I went a bit mute at one point were I did not say anything much.

I just felt flat inside.

Does anyone else here feel like this!

I guess a lot of people have experienced that. AS, NT alike. Social contact all too often is somewhat forced...and some forms of natural behavior of people is seen as unacceptable therefore where everyone is told (or feels like they are being told) to be super happy and energetic 24/7 which is kinda tiring to be honest.

I always go mute once I run out of energy when I'm out socialising. I never know if this is down to my AS or just because I am an introvert. I tend to hide it by taking time out (by playing pool usually, you don't talk much when you're doing that) as people tend to ask if I am okay or they feel the need to draw me out and bring me into the conversation otherwise. I am always drained after an hour or two of socialising.

I have had a few people tell me "you're not really there" and uh, they're right. I hardly ever talked when I socialised. It was like I was disconnected from everything around me.
